Super Llama: Llamas are awesome! (10)
My Bio
I make things.

I make things out of fabric. Quilts. Steampunk garb (because tailcoats are awesome). More accurate earlier period garb (for the SCA). Big shoulder carry bags and drawstring bags and small purses. Mundane things like pillowcases and stuffed Minecraft Creepers for my friend's nephew's birthday.

Then I make molds out of craft clay or craft foam, paint fabric using Shiva oil stick paints, and make more drawstring bags and small bags and big bags.

I make things out of varying sizes of tiny rings (chain maille's addictive). Sometimes I add scales. Sometimes I add rocks. Sometimes I keep the rocks and skip the rings and mess around with wire wrapping. Sometimes I skip the rocks and make Viking wire weaving.

I embroider things (belts, pouches, more bags).

I've done a bit of lucet and fingerloop braiding. I have almost figured out card weaving. I am slowly learning how to make glass beads, but torches are a little pricey and a little scary, so I haven't made much progress with this. I've made trilobite buttons out of craft clay to match a trilobite-painted waistcoat. I made a Death of Rats costume for a stuffed dragon, complete with paper-mache scythe, fabric cloak, and clay mask (I told you I was slightly mad).

I'm learning how to draw things, too.

In addition to Making Things, I enjoy hiking in the woods and reading fantasy books (favorite authors include: Sir Terry Pratchett, Diana Wynne Jones, Brandon Sanderson, Jim Butcher, Kristian Britain, Naomi Novik, John Scalzi, Steven Brust, Ben Aaronvitch, Robin Hobb's earlier books, Jane Lindskold, Gail Carriger).
So my basic problem is that I can design projects a whole lot faster than I can make them. "Hey, I should make a scale maille vest! With inlays! Of a black and white winged cat!" "Hey, I should make a minion lab coat! and distress it with fire and dyes! and label the back 'Minion for hire'." "I should make a monster dice bag with teeth on the inside!" Well, at least that one's actually started. Repeat. On the plus side, I do not get bored easily. Tired, yes. Bored, no. Busy, oh yes. * * * I find it unlikely that (available time) will ever precisely equal (project ideas). This means there are two possibilities: (available time) greater t
