Brocade Waistcoat

So, I do Steampunk. This is a brocade 1840s style waistcoat (pattern used: Reconstructing History 1830s-1840s Roll-Collar Waistcoat, although, if you are not familiar with how to attach a roll-collar, the pattern instructions will not give you any help.)

I found this fabric at Jo-Ann's and just fell in love with it. It's blue! And silver! And brocade is pretty, even if it is not always easy to sew (it loves to fray and snag on everything).

My Steampunk outfits are all waistcoats and tailcoats because I think tailcoats are awesome. I wear this with a blue tailcoat, thrift store white dress shirt, and black slacks. Proper Victorian shirts with frilly lacy bits are on the List Of Things I Should Make (this is, however, rather a long list).
